Full Time Laborer
The Township of Moon is accepting applications for the position of Laborer with the Department of Public Works.
Persons employed in this classification perform duties of a complex, diverse and strenuous nature. The ability to undertake heavy physical labor such as shoveling asphalt or aggregate material, lifting up to 100 pounds of sacked materials, storm sewer installation, asphalt installation, carpentry, masonry and equipment maintenance is required. Persons in this classification shall have the expertise to operate all Township owned vehicles and equipment up to and including Class 8 Trucks and Combinations.
High school diploma or GED, a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a skilled laborer in the municipal public works field or heavy highway construction industry and possession of a PA Class A with Air Brakes Commercial Driver’s License is required.
Applicants will also be required to submit to an Independent Functional Capacity Evaluation and preemployment drug screening and background check.
This position includes weekend, holiday and regular work day extended hours. This is a Union position with salary based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Excellent benefit package including paid vacations and holidays.

The Township of Moon is accepting applications for Seasonal Laborers with the Public Works Department. Employees in this classification are asked to perform various tasks including grass mowing, trash collecting, building maintenance, road maintenance and parks maintenance. Work hours will be from 7:00am. to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Weekend and Holiday work may be required.

The Township of Moon, Pennsylvania seeks an energetic and motivated engineer to join the township’s Community Development Department. Reporting to the Township Manager, the engineer will be responsible for preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for work to be undertaken by the Township. Work with department heads to develop and coordinate the planning and execution of capital projects. Oversee stormwater management programs in the Township including compliance with MS4 permit requirements.
The successful candidate will be both creative and experienced, with a proven record in the engineering field. Position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum qualifications include completion of a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, registered engineer in the Commonwealth of PA.
