Regular meetings for the Moon Transportation Authority (MTA) Board of Directors for 2021 will be held the first Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. except for the following:
MTA usually does not hold a meeting in December due to the holidays. All meetings will be held at the Moon Township Municipal Building, 1000 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township, PA 15108.
If any meeting needs to be conducted virtually due to Covid-19, MTA will issue a public notice with updated information and post the change to our webpage.
MTA was established by Moon Township ordinance April 29, 1986 to improve and construct transportation infrastructure that promotes economic development and enhances safety and welfare of Moon’s residents. The Authority is funded by the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) Revenue Allocation Program (RAP), a mechanism to finance certain transportation infrastructure improvements in the designated transportation district. Properties within the designated district are exempted from local taxes on the value of new buildings or improvements to commercial properties for 10 years. Participating property owners contribute funds to MTA in like amount of exempted taxes to advance priority transportation projects as identified by the Township. Any construction, reconstruction or improvement for which a building permit is issued on or before April 29, 2026 in the designated district is eligible to participate.
