Robin Hill Park (Rain or Shine)
The Moon Township Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is excited to announce that Earth Day will return to Robin Hill Park in 2025. The Earth Day festivities will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. A community favorite, Earth Day is a fun, well-attended family-friendly event for all ages. The Township’s Earth Day celebration was the brainchild of longtime resident and Moon Parks volunteer Dr. Beryl (Randy) Johnson, who championed the event since 2001. This year’s event will feature many interactive booths and activities brough to us by environmental organizations from all over the Pittsburgh area. Snack vendors will be on site. Giveaways and many more exciting things to be announced as we get closer to the event so, please be sure to check out the Township website and Facebook page for additional information.
With an emphasis on our collective impact, this year’s theme is “Earth Day: Powered by People, Fueled by Green” Focusing on our individual energy to make a difference, and our drive to act, this year’s theme seeks to embolden the power of the people. The theme features a design contest for all Moon Area elementary school students ages kindergarten through fourth grade. Moon Township Supervisors and the EAC will present the winner with a certificate and award at the Earth Day celebration.
